Demographic Change Design
Short description

Macroeconomic systems are changing due to socio technical functions in relation to primary,
secondary or tertiary working system. Technological innovations grow
only under certain socio economic conditions. Vice versa technological
innovations may cause changing social structures.
Technology transfer strategies from other disciplines, industries,
sectors or cultures may advance innovation in the construction sector
as long as one considers the soft and social factors of technology
transplantation in the new embedded environment. These socio technical
aspects are decisive for the development of life support systems or
ambient assisted living of any built environment: What will be the
future life style, how will our cities look if we face demographic
changes, migration, globalization and environmental disasters? How can
we profit from synergies between technology, social structures and
economical systems? How can we design customized high-tech living
environments for accessibility, health care and usability and ensure
its future constructible and buildable adaptation or
remodeling-renovation-recycling?
